All of my work is made using paper, scissors, scalpel and glue.
I'm inspired by David Hockney’s early photography, punk/riot girrrl zines and the sampling methods used by Hip Hop and jungle producers such as Photek and J Dilla.
Searching old book shops is my equivalent to ‘digging in the crates’ for breaks and loops. Taking existing material and repurposing it to convey a different energy and feeling is the driver of his practice.
My work is surreal, dark and personal but also uses humour and irreverence to highlight social issues and to touch on themes of trauma, addiction and neurodiversity. Childhood nostalgia, Pop Art, Americana and the macabre are themes that feature often in my work.
